sarah cresswell our percussionist arrives in the morning. we rehearse - the more that you appear, and later in the afternoon - onn/off which is written for the full line up of musicians. while they rehearse upstairs in the kiln, the bbc bods are busy setting up in the britten studios along with our sound engineer david sheppard. the lovely peter meanwell (producer) and sarah mohr-pietsch (presenter) arrive just in time for our open rehearsal in the evening.
in all this busyness….and speaking for myself…crazyness… the dj provides some bass relief

About the project
Exchange and return is a year long project for the artists Mira Calix, Larry Goves and Tansy Davies. The project is about Mira sharing and exchanging her artistic experiences, practices and background, routed in dance music and experimental electronic music, with two composers who come from a more formal classical background. Both Larry and Tansy have different perspectives and degrees of experiences in electronic music. The aim of the project is for all three artists to radically expand their range of musical skills and experiences to take into their own careers as well as create a series of collaborative pieces. In an artistic climate where these worlds are already colliding the project aims to investigate this area of music making in detail.
